In the run-up to the Belgian Worldwide Music Night on 2 February 2027 at the AB, we are launching two new calls. Together with Kiosk Radio, we are looking for a DJ for an exclusive showcase: applications are open until 20 November. And until 8 November, you can nominate albums for the Album of the Year Award.
Apply for the DJ showcase at Kiosk Radio
Just like last year, the Belgian Worldwide Music Network and Kiosk Radio are launching a call for worldwide music DJs: music rooted in traditional music from all over the world. You don’t need to be a member of the network, but you must live in Belgium.
The selected DJ will play a paid one-hour set on Sunday 31 January 2027 at Kiosk Radio in Brussels. We ask the selected DJ not to play any other show in Brussels during the week before the showcase.
An independent jury will choose the winner, who will be announced at the end of December. We will announce the jury members soon on our website and social media.
Deadline: Friday 20 November 2026. Apply via the application form.
Last year, the jury (RaQL, Rokia Bamba and Kokonuts) chose Kaâm.
Did you make the Album of the Year?
You can now nominate albums for the Album of the Year Award at the Belgian Worldwide Music Awards 2027. Anyone can nominate an album. The album must:
- have been released between 15 October 2025 and 15 October 2026;
- fall under worldwide music in all its diversity (trad, fusion and more);
- be by a Belgian band.
Labels that released several albums can fill in the form several times, once for each album. There are two prizes to win: a jury prize and an audience prize. Both winners will receive their award at the Belgian Worldwide Music Night on 2 February 2027 at the AB.
Deadline: 8 November 2026. Nominate via the nomination form.
Last year, the jury prize for best album went to Farfar for Orbit. The audience prize went to Sara Salvérius & Jean-Philippe Poncin for Verhalen zonder woorden.
